Suggest Remedy For Inability To Fall Asleep

my wife is having sleeping disorder from last 10 years. From last 1 year it worsen and after taking any medicine for sleep which is prescribed by the doctor does not work. normally when she goes to bed she sees dream and always her ear is open. she does not sleep at all. she feel tired all the day and she want to be on bed. pls. guide us.

I understand your concern .

Sleep problem called insomnia. If she had sleep problem in intiation then called sleep onset insomnia.

Sleep problem persists even after taking medicines that means need to evalute psychological status.

Psychological disorder like stress and anxiety depression can be associated with insomnia.

Treatment of psychological disorder will helpful to restore sound sleep .

So along with treatment of insomnia , lifestyle modification can be useful.

Like

Fix sleep schedule and stick to it .
No day time sleep .
Avoid smoking and drinking .
Stress free activity and work .

Avoid tea and coffee before bed .
Cool and calm bed room.

All of these called sleep hygiene .
Consult psychiatrist for further assistance .
