Suggest Remedy For High Blood Pressure

My blood pressure has been high this past week. Tonight 159/95, 167/99. I have a headache I can not relieve. I took Lopressor 25mg. today with no relief. {y husband s med}. What type of doctor should I see? Family doctor or go straight to a cardiologist? YYYY@YYYY Thank you Sheri

After going through your history, it seems that you are having essential hypertension. Only one tablet of antihypertensive won't decrease your blood pressure.

You need to take it regularly without missing. You can consult your family doctor only and start taking antihypertensive as soon as possible.
