Suggest Remedy For Headache & Nausea

I have had headache, nausea, vomiting, only when lying down ; daily for several months. The symptoms are relievedby taking Exedrin & ginger root capsules. The nausea sometimes lasts for hours. The headache usually goes away in about 15 min. The headache is made better by sitting or standing, but the nausea is worse. I have had a normal MRI & CT skan.

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM!

I understand your concern.

I think that your symptoms may be related to a raised intracranial pressure.

It is a rare type of headache which is caused by an imbalance in the production and absorbtion of the cerebrospinal fluid. The normal MRI result is another argument in favor of this diagnosis besides your clinical scenario.

I would recommend you to consult with your neurologist and measure your cerebrospinal fluid pressure with a spinal tap.

There are different treatments like acetazolamide, topiramate which are very effective in this type of headache.

Hope to have been helpful!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
