Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi my name is Sandra my 16 year old daughter is complaining that her head, throat and chest hurt and I did her bp check and it is 98/55 and her pulse is 134. She has had problems with her appendix, should I bring her in to the ER dept or just give her Tylenol. Please text me as I don t have an email address at 1-306-960-7492 thank you.
Pulse rate of 134 is possibly due to fever. Two possibilities need to be considered her-either a febrile viral illness or pneumonia. If she has associated cough and sputum production, then probable pneumonia needs to be ruled out. I would recommend that she needs to follow up with the emergency room and get a chest Xray done. Meanwhile, give Tylenol for fever.
Hope this answers your question Please address further questions here Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
