Dear shweta i can understand your concern in my opinion its very wise to start insulin in your condition since you are already taking steroid to control your autoimmune disorder. usually TIFFA scan is having very good sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing many anomalies but it depends on the experience and skill of Radiology. A good radiologist can identify the anomaly with good precision. your sugar levels are not very bad but its safe to take insulin due to steroid usage. there are safe insulin like levemir which can be take once daily and they work for 24 hrs. kindly discuss with your treating doc for necessary advice Regards Dr vamsi Diabetologist
