General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for posting.
The symptoms which you have describe point towards acute pharngo-tonsillitis. The child must take a course of antibiotics, injectable ones are preferred. If the symptoms occur more than 3 times a year, the child needs to undergo tonsillectomy to avoid the infection at source.
until you go an ENT surgeon or a pediatrician, you can the child to do salt water gargling which gives some immediate relief to the child.
