Suggest Remedy For Facial Pimples

My son has a possibly infected pore/pimple its getting bigger and redder each day.He washes twice a day with Clearasil Daily face wash. He covers it for work but other then that he lets the air at it. When taking off the band aid tonight the scab came off making it bleed but now he has a "crater" looking lump ... what should we do now???

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Pimple occur when sebum get accumulated along with dead skin and bacteria in clogged pore of sebaceous gland. Oily skin is very prone to get pimples .

I would suggest you to :-

- Continue using clearasil face wash twice a day as it contain salicylic acid which is very good for preventing pimples .

- Exfoliate your skin one a week to remove the dead skin from your face .

- Give cold compresses on lump 2-3 times a day .

- Apply betnovate on lump twice a day for 2-3 days .

- After washing face apply cream containing azelaic acid .

If condition doesn't start getting better in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment .

Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotic course (clindamycinor erthromycin) or isoteritenoin for twice a day for few weeks .
