Suggest Remedy For Extreme Mood Swings And Irritability

I can t seem to be able to control my emotions. I m easily irritable all day and the smallest of arguments can send me into a fit of rage or make me irrational. When in this mood I can feel something inside of me building which results in me smashing my head off a wall as a self harm measure. I do injury myself and recently had to hsve ambo out to check my head out,all of this whilst crying uncontrollably. I don t know whether it s an anger problem or just counselling in general is needed?

Hello,
I had gone through your query and understand your concern.

It is not clear from your question that since how many days you have these kind of emotional problems. But worry not. You know what is your problem is. You are not in a condition to control your emotion. It is normal to lose control over one's emotions once in a while. But it becomes a problem when you can't get back to normalcy and you start suffering from your own actions.

My suggestion is that first try to control your emotions. But how?
01) Take deep breaths when you are angry.
02) Do not get into any arguments.
03) Keep your mind engaged by any means eg. Reading books, listening music etc
04) Exercise regularly
05) Take rest
06) Never ever think about your problem.
07) Never isolate yourself. Socialise, make good friends. Observe others like how they control their emotions.

Once you take control of your mind, you can start training your mind to adjust to the situation. I know it's difficult but it's possible and you can do it.

If you can't get over it then better consult a psychologist.

I hope this helps.

If you have any other queries, feel free to ask.

Regards,
Dr.Prathap Kumar
