Sharp or sticking intermittent pain is sometimes nerve related pain (neuralgia).
This can occur due to abnormal structure or function of the nerves.
There are different possible causes such as :1) vitamin b12 or folate deficiency (2)diabetes (3)trauma (4)liver or kidney disease (5)exposure to toxins
In terms of your mood, you may need to consider assessment by your doctor or a psychologist. There are different mood disorders that may or may not be present.
If you can assessed then medication may be started that may be able to help you.
I hope this helps
