Suggest Remedy For Erectile Dysfunction

Hi Doc, I m 35yrs single male have been masturbating for almost daily basis for past 4years. Used to do it frequently when i was a teenager but stopped cauz got involved with a job but now again started it and cant control or stop it. Now i feel its not eazy for me to get erections, even if i get they are not hard enough, and even if they are hard wont stay hard for a long time. I have got a proposal for marriage from our family frnds, she surely will be a virgin girl my delima is whether to get married and spoil the girls life or not cauz i feel neither will i be able to penetrate her, satisfy her sexually nor will be able to father a child cauz have been masturbating and ejaculating my sperms so very very often that i feel my sperm count will also be less that it is required to father a child. Please advise.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear service user,
Thanks for writing to healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns about sexual dysfunction and dilemma for marriage.
I admire you and congratulate for your frank and open attitude.
Masturbation in private or with a partner is generally considered a normal and healthy part of sexual enjoyment. Masturbation is not a disease hence no adverse effects. Masturbation causes impotency is a myth.
Masturbation does not reduce sperm count. Semen is produced continuously in your body.
Do not assume negative things from right now. Negativity attitude toward sexuality itself causes erectile dysfunction.
Masturbation is akin to sexual intercourse. What penis does in vagina during sexual intercourse, same it does during masturbation in your folded palm. This is a natural activity and I would say a 'healthy' activity and does not either affect or deter sexual performance.
Sexual intercourse is not BAD HABIT, so also the masturbation. No need to feel guilty. If you have excessive and inappropriate guilt, kindly get counseled with a psychiatrist.
Go ahead and think positive.
Warm regards and healthy sex life ahead
