Suggest Remedy For Epididymitis Without Side Effects
I have been diagnosed with epididymitis (confirmed by ultrasound). I've had it for 23 days. I am 37 years old and haven't been sexually active for some time. I was initially prescribed doxycycline which didnt work. I was then prescribed bactrim which I had an adverse gastro reaction too after one does. I have now been prescribed cipro but I am very nervous about the possible tendon rupture side effects. I have ankylosing spondylitis and have major problems with my feet - very flat, and have plantar facititis. I dont know what to do.

Thanks for query .You have been diagnosed to have Epididymitis and have taken ample of antibiotics with poor results ( May be because of bacteria may not be sensitive to antibiotics ) .
I would suggest you to get following test done to trace out the organisms causing Epididymal infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to so that you can take appropriate antibiotics to control the infection .
1) Urine routine and culture
2) Semen culture
In the mean while start taking broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily later on switch on to appropriate antibiotic as per culture report .
Please note that Epididymitis takes long time to get cured hence yu will neet to take medicines for 4-6 weeks.
