Suggest Remedy For Ear Problem

My husband used a sinus rinse to clear his sinuses 4 months ago. He used it very aggressively 2 -3 times a day for a few days. At the same time, he developed severe ear ringing and ear noises. He has seen countless dr s. including a specialist. Most said it was labrnthytis (sp?) and it would take 3 months to go away. It hasn t and it is driving him crazy. The noises change and he wakes up in the morning with his ear screaming. He has never had this before in his life and it s been 4 months. I believe he pushed an infection into his inner ear with the sinus rinse. It was too much of a coincidence that it happened at the exact same time as the aggressive nose rinsing. We are at a loss for what to do. It is really affecting his quality of life. He has been on 2 bouts of antibiotics for it and it hasn t helped. He s 47 and good health otherwise. Any info. or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Your husband has a history of ringing & noises in the ears. He has been taking antibiotics but they are not helping him. You are suggested to get him clinically examined & assessed by an ENT. It looks like he is having Tinnitus which needs to be treated at the earliest. Neglect may cause Tinnitus to become progressive causing the ringing & the noises to get even louder. The ENT will tell your husband to do few tests like Audiometry to assess his hearing capacity (degree of deafness), CT & MRI to detect any deformities or damage to the inner ear, perforation of the ear drum, growth or tumor. He will be treated(medicines, hearing aid, TRT, cognitive therapy, cochlear implants) according to the pathology & severity of the symptoms detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
