Suggest remedy for dry eyes

my boyfriend is 58 and has what I think is dry eyes but he went to a dr and they said blocked tear duct. The only thing they told him is hold a washcloth on it for 5 minutes every few hrs, However he works and cannot take the tie to do this at work and not enough time between the tie he gets home and the time he goes to bed. he also says the back of his eyelid kind of feels like sandpaper.

thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....
i appreciate your concern....

well in case of dry eye because of obstruction or blockage, sometimes surgical intervention gives very good results....so i would suggest you to visit an OPHTHALMOLOGIST for proper examination and further management...
what you can do for now is apply 1% methylcellulose lubricating eye drops 3-4 times a day to keep your eye moist...you can continue using them if you notice no irritation or watering or redness.....

hope this was helpful....
regards
