Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What for the medicine is prowel dry syrup? My 3 yes kid is suffering from loose motion (3 times) & vomiting (1 time) since yesterday evening. It is also reflecting indigestion. Can u pls suggest a good medicine for her urgently? I m from Kolkata, India.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of your 3 year child suffering from diarrhea and vomiting and been prescribed Prowel Dry Powder, which contains L-Lysine(50 Mg) , Pyridoxine(1.5 Mg) , Thiamine(5 Mg) , Folic Acid(1 Mg) , D-Panthenol(5 Mg). Since this is not sufficient, I would suggest you the following: Get the stool tests for 3 consecutive days. If infection is present you child needs proper antibiotic cover as well as probiotic. Hydration has to be maintained well. If needed admit the child if there are signs of dehydration or toxemia.
