Suggest Remedy For Dehydration And Breathing Difficulty In An Elderly Person
My 85 year old mother was just admitted to the hospital again. She is dehydrated, has low blood volume, and is bleeding internally. She was in recently for the same conditions and they discharged her with no real solution. Now she s back in. She has difficulty breathing and walking and seems weak and frail. She has diabetes, too. I suggested congestive heart failure but I think they ruled that out. Any clues?

as per your concern, you can give her .91percent dextrose or normal saline,
but as she has diabetes it is better to go with normal saline.
i think you first undergo a ecg and a chest x ray which will rule out the cardiac or respiratpry origin, till that time try to hydrate her with more water and ns.
