Suggest Remedy For Constipation In Infants
My baby is one month old and is on bf+ ff(dexolac)- 2-3 feeds a day since birth due to low milk production. Recently she has started having severe constipation, and her stool at the anus has become very hard. Kindly suggest how I can help her pass the stool.

HI...a kid of this age on formula feeds might pass motion once in 10 days only and that too very hard stools. We should not treat this as constipation. If we use medicines for this then it might result in chronic diarrhea.
IT IS VERY COMMON FOR KIDS OF THIS AGE TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF STOOL PATTERN ESPECIALLY WHEN ON FORMULA FEEDS.
