Suggest Remedy For Constipation In Elderly

i have ungone MITRAL VALVE replacent 5 years back. At present I am taking Warfin 6mg,deplatt, rozat 10mg, Minipress, dibizide and Betacuard in night A/Meals. [ same medicines since surgery ie from 2007 ]. But average HBP [180/104] and slight increase in diabetic level is not controlled. I am having suferring from severe/cronic constipation from age of 20. Now I am 67 years old. Insomnia patiet also

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Increase soluble fiber in diet (from fruits and vegetables)
2. Eat regularly. Sleep is also important, sleep hygiene is very important. Night sleep of atleast 8-9 hours. Afternoon, maybe half an hour.
3. Good hydration along with moderate exercises.
4. Pelvic exercises to strengthen pelvis muscles. This should help. If any gas problems, take probiotics. Soluble fibers are important.
5. In diabetes, autonomic dysfunction can cause constipation. Control of blood sugar and hypertension is necessary to prevent organ complications.
