Suggest Remedy For Constant Cough And Cold
ive had a constant cold/cough for the last 3 months that either won t get better or keeps re-occurring. i sometimes cough up clear mucus, sometimes yellow/green coloured. if i drimk alcohol i immediately start to cough badly. Sometimes every time i speak i start to cough, as though everything is inflamed. Sometimes the glands in my throat are swollen but not always. I m 66 yr old male, extremely fit (thro cycling, weights, walking etc). I have a good diet but vegetarian, non smoker, low alcohol consumption, not obese. I fact Id consider myself very fit and active for my age so I cant understand why I have this constant cold. BTW i get very bad hay fever in the spring months.

From your description, I am of the opinion that you should have a chest x-ray to determine if any COPD or any chronic asthma. Seasonal allergies like hay fever indicates that your IgE levels are hyperactive.
When you have green or yellow cough that indicates infectious sputum and so you should be on antibiotics when that occurs.
In general you ought to have steam inhalation regularly, salbutamol tablets should be prescribed, betadine gargle for local throat infection, Montair-LC at bedtime for cold. All this should be prescribed by a local doctor.
