Suggest Remedy For Congested Sinus

My left sinus has been congested for 3 weeks (right sinus is also congested to a lessor extent but problem is in the left). - First, it was just sinuses. - Week 2 = left sinus, teeth, behind the eye pain, and some swelling . sinus decongestion pills and decongestant spray. Eating extra garlic to see if it will help. Vaporizor at night. Still very congested. I am blowing my nose out when it is not plugged solid. Mucus is very light colored almost clear. - Next seen doctor which he prescribed Amoxicillon. in day 8 of 10 day perscription. Not much relief for pills. Still using decongestants each day to try and clear nose with little result. Mucus is now orangish in color when I blow it. left nostril can inhale better than blowing out. just about plugged solid when blowing. On occassion clear thin liquid pours out of left nostril then stops. I am not sure what to do next to treat this. Nothing appears to be very effective. suggestions?? I would like to try and cure this naturally.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have infection in the sinuses leading to Sinusitis and as the sinuses drains through nostrils, therefore fluid/pus accumulation in sinuses can drain through nose..

Pain on face, teeth and behind the eyes is all due to sinus inflammation only..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS view x ray or MRI scan can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestants like Pseudoephadrine, do saline nasal irrigation, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
You can also be advised decongestant nasal sprays containing Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
Do warm compresses around nostrils..

If the congestion and pain still does not resolve then endoscopic sinus surgery can be advised o drain off the sinuses and relieve the infection and congestion..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
