Suggest Remedy For Cold And Cough With Thick Yellow Mucus Discharge From Tear Ducts While Blowing

My 5 year old daughter has symptoms that I am not sure is from a cold vs. allergies. She has a cough that has loosened over the past couple of days. She also has thick yellow mucus in her nose and yellow thinner mucus coming out of her tear ducts when she blows. This problem happened last year and her pediatrician said it was allergies. She was prescribed childrens Benadryl along with a prescription nasal spray and Alloway eye drops. It just doesnt seem like the combination helps at all. Her eyes were sealed shut this morning. She also has complained of pain under her right eye where it seems a little puffy.
