General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such problems can appear due to chronic inflammation or even a cancer. If you smoke, cancer should be ruled out at first. To do that, endoscopy with biopsy should be done.
If cancer is ruled out, esophagus widening or stent should be considered. This is the way it can be successfully treated.
Cancer can be developed due to chronic inflammation caused by GERD (Barrets esophagus) or smoking. Otherwise, cancer is hardly possible.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
