I have a burning intense pain the left foot out side. It comes and goes. When present it last for several minutes to hours. It feels like someone put a cigarette to my skin. I take Allopurinol daily for routine maintenance of Kidney Stone prevention. Never experienced gout. See no swelling or redness - just intense burning pain.

It is likely to be due to lumbar spondylitis with compressive neuropathy. You need to get your MRIlumbar spine. Second you need to do your blood sugar test to rule out diabetes neuropathy. Third possibility is vitamin B12 deficiency, you can your vitamin B12 levels. Till then you can take neurotrophic agents such as Mecobalamine. You can discuss with your Doctor about it.
