Suggest Remedy For Bumps In The Throat

I have a lot of small bumps in the back of my throat, they have a yellow color around them.My tthroat randomly started hurting mid day today and gradually got worse. It felt like it started on the right side. Eating and drinking make the pain less noticeable. What could it be and what should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of getting bumps in the throat with yellow surrounds.
This is called granular pharyngitis and is due to the infection and inflammation of hte pharyngeal wall.
The yellowness may be due to edema around the granules.
I would advise you the following:
Get a consultation of an ENT Surgeon to get a proper ENT examination and to see for any nose or sinus infection which may be the primary focus of infection.
You have to take a long course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant to get the cure.
Also need the treatment for focus of infection if present like in the sinuses or lungs on investigations.
