Suggest Remedy For Bruised Ear

I got punched in the ear last night, there was a bit of blood, there are no cuts to my ear so pretty sure it may have came from inside. There is no blood now but is really sore and bruised, but also my jaw hurts to open and send pain down back of my neck.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain there is a possibility that due to traumatic injury to the ear there has been blow to the eardrum leading to perforation in the eardrum that might be a probable cause for bleeding from inside the ear as well as feeling of bruising and soreness..
Secondly pain on opening the jaw that radiates to neck seems to be due to trauma implicated on the jaw joint due to punching and there can be either mild to moderate dislocation of jaw joint or there can be dislocation of the soft cushion present between the two bony ends of the joint that is artiucular disc..
Also pain in ear can be due to jaw joint as both lies very close to each other..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and Panoromic x ray to rule out the exact cause of jaw pain and treat accordingly..
As of now you should take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain..
Take a soft diet..
Avoid excess mouth opening during laughing, yawning etc..
Keep stress minimal...

You should also get your ear evaluated by an ENT expert and an otoscopic examination can be helpful..
In case if there is only bruising and no perforation of eardrum then anti inflammatory painkillers and analgesic ear drops with nasal decongestant spray can be sufficient..
In case of perforation of eardrum, small perforation can be treated with a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers and decongestant nasal sprays..
Large perforation needs surgical repair..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
