Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a bruise to my that bulges (almost like the point of a corn) in the center of my wrist, which resulted from risistance training. There has not been any swelling except in this one corn-size area, which stick out about 1/4 + of an inch and hurts when touched. Also there is a little loss of feeling sometimes in the center of my hand. I injured my write last weekend and am not sure if it is getting any better. Did I pull or pinch a nerve the wrong way? I have tried icing it, with little relief. There is no black or blue marking of any kind, yet it is painful to push on corn-shaped area protruding from the center of my wrist. Please help... Mark
Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using ice compresses for local applications.
I recommend maintaining a splint to prevent further damage and don't overuse the wrist for some days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
