Hi. I have had hormonal acne since age 10 and been through two rounds of accutane 40mg within three years from each other. After my last round, my dr started me on aldactone 25 mg because I was having break outs again. Now I am noticing a large blue vein under my eye. When I started the aldactone a few months ago i was experiencing headaches and dizziness even though I was well hydrated. After several tests my labs came back normal. Could this be a s/e while on the medication? Can veins go away; are they reversible if I stop the medication? I know the accutane contributed by thinning my skin as well.
Hi,Dear,Welcome to HCM. Based on the facts of your query,You seem to suffer from-Yes,this would reduce if the aldactone is topped,as it would increase the water retention and would reduce the veins due to dried out tissue from aldactone-a potassium sparing diuretic. Remedy- Would be start-Accutane-Stretinoin-and if need be hormones to increase the water retention under strict doctor's guidance, who would titrate the doses of the needed medicines.
