Dermatologic conditions are difficult to diagnose without seeing them. The one thing that fits is HIV. It can lower the immunity such that a normally short lived viral infection can last a considerable time. Obviously there are reasons to get HIV tested if using needles. Alternatively, a chronic hepatitis infection can cause deposits of anti-body/viral clumps taht produce painful blood blisters (erythema nodosum).
