Anal itching. I ve seen my doc, but would appreciate a second opinion. Anal itching started 10 days ago. I went to my doctor after 3 days, after trying two creams for hemorrhoids without much relief. She said it s probably worms as she didn t detect any hemorrhoids. I had drunk some dodgy water -just a bit, by accident- in Latvia a week prior, and had munched on raw broccoli a few days before itching started. After the doc had stuck her finger up my butt it itched like crazy. The itching is worst at night. No blood. She has recommended me mebendazole, which I took 7 days ago. It helped a bit, I think. But since yesterday evening it s really bad again. So itchy I cannot get to sleep, or only in bursts of a few hrs. Perhaps because I started a course of superherbs yesterday (black walnut hull, cloves, and wormwood)? I also do pretty much all the natural home remedies I ve found online (garlic, appel cider vinegar, non-sugar diet, no bread, etc). I have now sent my stool to the lab, but have to wait for a week before I get results... Is there something I can do to ease the itch? Any other insights you might have? Thanks for your help!
