Suggest Remedy For An Infection In The Throat

My dad is 74 years of age. He is having cough problem from last several years. But last month the situation worsened and he fell ill. The doctor took medical test and then ESR was 34. But after 15 days of medicene ESR increased to 51. The throat is still infected and cough problem still exist. What should we do?

hello, thanks for your query, prolonged cough with sputum can cause throat infection due to straining of throat mucosa and muscles and long standing accumulation of sputum. I feel, he is copd patient , where u require antibiotics , chest physiotherapy and bronchodilators. solve cough problem first, throat problem resolves automatically. give him steam inhalation to thin the secretion. hope I have answered your query. all the best. take care.
