General & Family Physician 's  Response
Amenorrhea mainly occurs due to hormonal disbalance. Diamox contains acetazolamide which hardly has a role in hormonal amenorrhoea.
Its recommended to take estradiol valerate 10mg intramuscular inj on day one and day 14 followed by oral norethisterone 5mg from 19th to 26th day or for 7days. Menstruation generally starts after 2-3 days of stopping oral drugs. These therapy should be continued for 3-4 cycles to get a better result.
Excessive stress may cause irregular periods too. There is also a chance of ovarian cyst in which above therapy may not help. An lower abdominal ultrasound and blood sugar estimation help to get this diagnosis. Formation of uterine adhesions may be a cause in refractory cases.
If above therapy does not help its advised to visit a gynecologist for proper counseling and advice.
