Suggest Remedy For Allergic Reactions To Hair Dye

My mother was applying hair dye about 10 minutes ago, talking and laughing as usual. Her head always gets itchy when she uses dye, and so she was scratching as usual too. She left it on for less than directed on the packaging and while bathing began to feel dizzy and nearly blacked out, started wheezing and felt a shortness of breath along with feeling queasy. Is this an allergic reaction?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history your mother is having allergic dermatitis due to hair dye.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid applying hair oil for at least 10 days.
2. Apply a mild topical steroid lotion like beclomethasone lotion twice daily on scalp.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
