Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
No doubt acne is common at your age. However, I feel that treatment is not apt to the severity of your acne.
Treatment is guided by the severity of acne. You may continue with topical
benzoyl peroxide. If it is causing skin irritation, you may use it once daily or every alternate days on active acne.
Benzoyl peroxide is an excellent antibacterial, antiinflammatory and
keratolytic topical antiacne treatment.
However, I also suggest you to use a topical retinoid e.g adapalene gel at night, over the whole affected area.
Topical retinoids are coemdolytic as well as antiinflammatory.
Therefore they not only treat existing acne but also prevent new acne formation.
Besides, if your acne is inflammatory i.e red, painful, pustular you may also be a candidate for
Oral antibiotics i.e either doxycycline,
azithromycin or minocycline.
I suggest you to seek an appointment with a
dermatologist. Your dermatologist will be able to assess the severity of your acne and advice accordingly.
