Suggest Remedy For Abnormal Menstrual Bleeding

I am 37 years old. I have never had any children. I have had avery large dermoid cyst removed with my left ovary when i was 19, (14litles of fluid drained large). a few years ago they found another dermoid cycst on the other ovary. this one was about the size of a small baked potatoe. they removed a large portion of this ovary. I have been having very heavy menstrul cycles. they last a full 7 days. I just ended the last cycle on sunday, I started bleeding again today. I have very large clots. should i be worried?

Hi,

There are several reasons for the excessive menstrual bleeding that you are suffering from.

It is often due to diseases of the uterus like fibroid uterus or adenomyosis.

Rarely it could be due to endometrial polyp or even ovarian cyst. Rarely it is due to thyroid disease. When did you last have your pap test done?

It is important that you consult a gynecologist for internal examination, pap test if it is due and ultrasound scan of uterus and ovaries. This will guide in further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ramadevi Wani, OBGYN
