Hi i have a raised bump on the highest point of my inner thigh. It is not round, kind of spreads. If i squeeze it, light brown, dark yellow puss comes out until it starts to bleed . After squeezing it does feel slightly less swollen. But then after a day or 2, it is completely filled/raised again. What is it And what should I do?
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Although this requires a physical examination of the lump for a proper diagnosis, this could be a benign cyst over the thigh, which got infected repeatedly resulting in discharge of pus temporarily till it got filled up again.
I would advise you to take appointment with a general surgeon in your area who after the acute phase was over, might advise you for an excisional biopsy of the lump both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
