My son has an ingrowing toe nail for up to three months now had several infections and seen the doctor several times, we have soaked in salt baths, applied TCP, then in desperation applied Dettol, only diluted a tiny bit we taped a soaked cotton wool ball to his toe for the day and it looks ten times worse almost like its burnt can you help?

Hi

Your son seems to have two problems.
One is a toe nail infection and second is the allergic contact dermatitis which he has developed due to usage of undiluted dettol over the area.
You should completely avoid using dettol over it.
Give some antihistamine like benadryl to your child to overcome the allergy.
Then see a specialist for the nail assessment.
A direct examination of the nail is very essential to look for the type of nail infection.
