Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In Shin Bone And Leg Post An Injury

A heavy glass lid fell out of a cupboard and hit my shin two weeks ago. It swelled up and hurt like crazy even though I applied a ice pack. The pain was bad enough, I did not sleep at all the first night. Two weeks later, the leg still hurts and it is still quite swollen. There s not as much bruising as I thought there would be, but the lid did land directly on the shin bone. Is there anything I can do to speed up the healing at this point?

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Pain after an injury of that sort is normal and will disappear in due time. However, intensity of pain is expected to reduce with time.Possible damages that may have been infected include: muscle tear or sprain, fracture.I will suggest you get an x ray to eliminate a fracture and try the following:
-Rest
-Take a pain/anti-inflammatory drug like aceclofenac
-A myorelaxant like miorel
-Local pain gel like voltarene
-Heat therapy
Hope this will help
Wish you a speedy recovery
