Suggest Remedies For Severe Nausea While Taking Percocet

I currently have severe hip arthritis which the doctor has prescribed Norco. The Norco has stopped working for me so my doctor prescribed Percocet. That drug makes me severely nauseated even when taken with meals. What would be the next appropriate pain med foe me?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Percocet contains Paracetamol and opioid (Tramadol), opioids are very good pain killers put they are notorious for causing gastric upset specially nausea and vomiting, however these symptoms are not permanent and with time, they go away. So I hope it would settle in some time. If it's very troublesome we generally advise some drugs against vomiting like Diphenhydramine, or Metoclopramide with it for some time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Rahman
