Suggest Remedies For Runny Nose With Lethargy And Fever During Pregnancy

[pregnancy related cold] While TCC, I had unprotected sex 6 days ago during my fertile period, and had temperature shift immediately. Then I started having cold like symtoms 2 days ago - runny and blocked nose with clear mucus, sneezing, tired and higher than normal temperature but not feverish. It is too early to test for pregnancy but I don't want to take any cold medication just in case I am pregnant. What should be the best actions to take? the cold symtoms are not getting better, and I want to do something to alleviate it, is there any pregancy safe drugs to take? Thanks!!!

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Common cold in pregnancy can be treated by antihistamines, safest among which is cetrizine. It has no known harmful effect on the foetus.
I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get the prescription. In the meantime, you can take steam inhalation for symptomatic relief.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
