Suggest Remedies For Rashes On The Arms While On Lamotrigine

I take Lamotrigine 100 mg 2 x a day. I ve been on as much as 200 mg and have been on the 100 after a stay in the hospital where the doctor did a med wash with my Bipolar meds. I have a rash on the inside of my arm (elbow). I actually noticed it Friday but since it hasn t bothered me I didn t pay any attention to it. It hasn t itched nor has it gotten larger. I m not sure exactly what to do or if I should be worried? YYYY@YYYY

hi sir/madam

I gone through your question and understand your concerns.

I strongly recommend you to quit using lamotrigene. because, rash appeared on your elbow is a side effect due to lamotrigene.lamotrigene got strong drug interactions when used with other mood stabilzers like valproate and carbamazapine.but, you didn't provide me the history of other drugs that are being used along with lamotrigene

so, my recommendations for you
1)stop lamotrigene immediately
2)start another mood stabilizer like valproate or carbamazepine or lithium to treat bipolar disorder
