Suggest Remedies For Raised Heart Beats

Hi, I'm a 16 years old girl.

When I was sleeping I suddenly woke up and realized that my heart was beating really fast, it has never been like this before.. I got really scared .. I thought some spirit was sleeping on top of me or something, so i went to sleep with my sister( It was still the same ) My heart was pounding so fast, the bed moves. I am not sure why this is happening. I'm really scared, and I guess I should try not to panic. What should I do? I don't want to go back to sleep... It is now 5:12 A.M. I'm so worried... but, it's getting a little better now. I thought I would have to call the ambulance.. I hope this doesn't continue..

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

It is stress related. Once it happens and you get scared, it will get much worse. Therefore, try to calm down and do not think a lot about it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
