Hello Dear.
Heat rash occurs when pores become clogged and can’t expel sweat. This is more likely to happen in warmer months, in warmer climates, and after intense exercise. Wearing certain clothing can trap sweat leading to heat rash and using thick lotions and creams can also lead to heat rash.
Remedies
Heat rash often resolves on its own when the skin cools. If the prickly sensation persists,
calamine lotion may be helpful. Some clinicians also recommend over-the-counter
hydrocortisone creams or sprays. Heat rash resolves on its own once the skin cools, but on occasion the sweat glands can become infected. The signs of infection include pain, increased swelling, and
redness that does not resolve. Pustules may form at the site of the rash. This infection occurs because bacteria have invaded the blocked sweat gland. Antibiotic treatment may be required. Chronic and recurrent heat rash may need to be treated by a health care professional or
dermatologist (skin specialist).
Savlon is used in treating wounds due to fall or accident. It may be used if heat rash is infected. Otherwise may not help as such
Follow these tips to prevent heat rash:
1. Avoid wearing tight clothing that doesn’t allow your skin to breathe.
2. Moisture-wicking fabrics help prevent sweat buildup on the skin.
3.Don’t use thick lotions or creams that can clog your pores.
4. Try not to become overheated, especially in warmer months. Seek out air-conditioning.
5.Use a soap that won’t dry your skin and doesn’t have fragrances or dyes.
Heat rash is a minor discomfort that will resolve itself in a matter of days for most people. Talk with your doctor if you believe you may have something more serious or if you have heat rash that frequently recurs.
