Suggest Remedies For Gingivitis

My son was diagnosed of gingivitis three days ago. He has whitish sores in the mouth and is teething. His temperature has normalised and is mostly drinking fluids and eating soft porridge. He has not slept for the past 3 days. He cries throughout the night. What strong medication do you recommend for the severe pain and should take to the dentist as well. He is on antibiotics and paracetamol

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that your son might have Viral infection that can cause sores in mouth along with swollen inflamed gums leading to Herpetic Gingivostomatits..
I would suggest you to first of all consult a Pedodontist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood test and Oral swab culture will help in diagnosis..
He can be advised anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen for pain relief and along with it applying numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the sores and also doing cool compresses will relieve..
Along with it giving soft and bland foods will plenty of cool fluids will help..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
