Suggest Remedies For Gas Build Up In The Abdomen Radiating To The Back

I experienced what I thought was gas buildup in my left side just under my left breast, which then spread around to my actual side, then to my back. Then the pain spread across my front side, wrapped around my side and went to my back. I became instantly nauseous, notable sweatiness from my head to my feet. I felt as though I would vomit...but did not. I went immediately to bed & after about 45 minutes, the pain went away. I was FINE...until somewhere in the middle of the night when I started having the pain, but not the sweating or nausea. Since this is my left side, not my right...do you have any ideas what direction I should look to when I see my doctor? All of the usual suspects (liver, gallbladder, appendix, pancreas) are on the opposite side of my body.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
It may be a case of "heart burn"...a pain that occurs due to indigestion but affects the left side of the chest.
However, with some typical features associated with the pain, u should probably consult a doctor immediately and if he/ she feels like necessary, u should get an ECG or echocardiogram done. It will be a very unwise decision to comment on whether u have a heart ache or indigestion or some other cause without actually knowing your actual age, gender, lifestyle and the actual nature of the pain in person. But the area and the characters of pain you mention, apparently these two are very common causes.
