Suggest Remedies For Dark Coloration Of The Toe Nail

I thought I had toe nail fungus, never had before, on my left big toe. I bought over the counter medicine and tried it. I thought it might be getting better, had a pedicure went back to have another one and when the nail polish was removed my toe nail has a black streak going down it. Could this be from the fungus and should I go to a dermatologist or my regular doctor to get a prescription to take to clear it up?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
The management of onchomycosis(nail fungus) is not very challenging unless for treatment resistant strains.Your Doctor may handle it and if need be, he will refer you to a Dermatologist.Response on topical (like Efinaconazole) and oral anti-fungi drugs (like itraconazole and terbinafine, Fluconazole) is very good.Just see your Doctor.
Hope this will help
Best regards
