Suggest Remedies For Dark Circles Around Lips

Hello, I have dark circles around my lips due to have extensive chapped lips during my childhood. The dark circles have been here for about 8 years and show no signs of going away anytime soon. Are there any remedies or treatments for lightening the color around my lips again? Thank you.

Hello,

As per your case history, you have perioral hyperpigmentation. My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30.
2. Apply a kojic acid cream like Kojivit twice daily on the affected skin.
3. Take a vitamin B12 supplement once daily for three months.
4. Other treatment options are topical hydroquinone and chemical peeling done by a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
