Suggest Remedies For Constant Hiccups And Blood In Vomit

my 29 year old son is withdrawing from adderal and has been drinking a lot of vodka to ease the withdrawals. Its been about 3 days and now he has constant hiccups and is throwing up some blood. Do you think I should take him to the hospital. By the way, the adderal was prescripted to him for PTSD.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Persistent hiccups and presence of blood in the vomit are both rather serious problems- he might have ripped some blood vessels in his gut or there could be a ulcer and a metabolic problem. It is better to see a doctor but you could try these first-
The vodka should be kept to a minimum, if at all; he should have plenty of (cold, not chilled) water, fruit juice, milk shakes and non- spicy, non- fried foods at frequent intervals.
Intensive counselling should also be given a try to recover from the PTSD without depending on alcohol for relief.
