Suggest Remedies For Confusion And Agitation While On Tramadol And Prozac

My mother had a recent serious fall with concussion. She was amazingly clear considering her trauma. She is currently in a rehab hospital ready to be released today to independent living. However, I have noticed increased confusion and agitation the last few days. I just found out they put her on Tramadol the last few days for pain (neck & head) and she is already on Prozac. Do you think she could be showing signs of serotonin syndrome? (Note: I am not a physician, but I am a gerontologist and operated nursing homes for many years and saw what changes in medications do to 87-year olds.)

Hi,

Don't drink too much alcohol.
Avoid recreational (illegal) drugs.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to prevent vitamin or mineral deficiencies.
If you are diabetic, keep an eye on your blood sugar levels to prevent hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia occurring.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
