Suggest Remedies For Black Patches On My Knuckles

Hello Doctor,

Since a few weeks, I've developed black patches on the knuckles of my middle fingers on both my hands. The surface of these black patches are somewhat rough compared to other parts of skin of my hand. Now, it looks like the black patch is appearing on the knuckles of my thumbs also. Can you please advise ? I'm 32 years old with good health and no history of any skin ailments.

Thanks,

Hanumanth Reddy

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Welcome to HCM...

It may be due to vitamin deficiencies ...particularly vitamin B12 or genetic tendency ...

Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

I would suggest...

- after investigations of serum vitamin B12, take vitamin B12 tablet
- vitamin C tablet
- nicotinic acid tablet
- apply Kojic acid gel on the patches
- cleanse the hands with glycolic acid face wash

I hope this would help you.

Thanks.
