Hello. Thanks for putting your query in HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

Anal Itching has many causes like internal hemorrhoids, anal fissure, inflammatory bowel disease (First three causes especially when spotting of blood is present), dermatitis, leakage of stool and mucus, diabetes and infection.

I will suggest you to visit your doctor for physical examination, and proctoscopy. Meanwhile what you can do which I found very useful in my patients with itching per annum are
1.Use of an ointment that contain hydrocortisone, lignocaine (Local anaesthetic), phenylephrine (decongestant and anti allergic), zinc oxide (protective coating agent) like Pilorute ointment by Mankind which is available OTC
2. Take one tablet of Albendazole and repeat it after 14 days
3.Avoid coffee, cola, or chocolates, dairy products, citrus fruits, beer.
4.modify your cleansing habits that is stop polishing (rubbing while cleaning) anus and wipe it gently with wet facial tissue or baby wipes
5.Avoiding soap and a washcloth in the shower and use plain water and hand to wash the perineum in the tub or shower.
6.Tissue paper or a cotton ball placed by the anus and changed several times a day will absorb moisture and create a drier environment.

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
