HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

At this point, within hours of the injury, it is expected that the bruise will increase in size till it reaches a plateau around day two to three.

The heat and swelling are part of the body's inflammatory response to injury and should decrease unless the area becomes infected.

Color changes can also occur as the blood breaks down.

The use of anti inflammatory pain killers would help with the swelling eg naproxen, cataflam or ibuprofen.
Pain may increase and they would also help with pain control.

Rest, elevating the leg and ice compress may also be helpful as well.

I hope this helps
